Ted has just released his first CD!

"Gather Us In: Volume One" was officially released on March 17th and Ted's music producing career along with it. This album is a spiritual compilation of central Minnesota talent that Ted hand picked himself and produced in his own studio. Gather Us In is a very unique album that I think anyone can find something to relate to. Check back for some musical samples posted right here @ wildpianos.com.

The plan to make music together started simply enough over spaghetti and salad at Ted’s parents’ house in early October, 2004. Justin Ploof (lead singer of the band roGer) had re-discovered a tune he had scribbled down a few years back. Juice (Justin) had played the song for Ted after hearing of a plan to record a studio album of gospel and spiritual songs. After supper the family gathered around mom and dad’s 1905 Kimball upright, slightly out of tune but rich in honky-tonk tradition and bang, “When I’m Singin’” was delivered!

The spark of Juice’s tune led to one of the most elaborate collaborations of musicians that central Minnesota has seen in recent memory. Justin’s older brother Jason (also of roGer fame) agreed to engineer and produce the album while Ted’s musical partner, David Eichholz, put up the recording equipment and penned the album’s other original song, “In My Dreams.”

The who’s who of journeymen and women stopped by, as they often do, and music was made…lots of it. Paul “Stretch” Diethelm (of Slip Twister, Deep Seven, Jonny Lang fame) laid down a lot of the guitar work while Mike Zeleny (Slip Twister, Deep Seven) provided the foundation for the rhythm section along with middle brother Jamie Ploof (roGer) on drums. St Cloud favorites Dan Preston and Deanna Paulzine added their touch to three of the tracks while Paul Imholte provided the musical glue to hold down the roots of many of the songs, playing everything from hammered dulcimer and banjo to mandolin and Viola. Other St Cloud favorites Randy Mickelberg, Anita Fisher, Jennifer Wildeson, Sara Dahlquist, Papa Dan Ploof, Katie Jorgenson all added their spice to this musical stew.

Gather Us In: volume one includes tracks ranging from the rootsy “Wade in the Water” to the more conventional “Hail Mary: Gentle Woman.” So whether your enjoying the country feel of “I Shall Not Be Moved” or the passionate rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah,” Gather Us In is sure to have your toe tappin’ and your soul singin’.
